According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Luka Dončić will undergo a re-evaluation in a month following an MRI on Thursday. He sought out multiple opinions on the injury before determining the next steps in his recovery process.

Dončić exited the Mavs’ 105-99 Christmas Day loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second quarter. With Dallas trailing 48-38 with 2:55 remaining in the first half, Dončić appeared to suffer a non-contact leg injury. He limped to the sideline as play continued and headed back to the locker room.

Dončić has a history of issues with his left calf, missing all or most of the past two preseasons while previously sitting the first three games of the 2022 playoffs.

The five-time All-Star has already missed eight games this season with a variety of injuries, including a right knee contusion, a right wrist sprain and a left heel contusion.

Dončić is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists this season, but he will be ineligible for any postseason awards should he miss another seven games.
