Varun Chakravarthy performed brilliantly in the second match of the T20 series against South Africa. He conceded only 17 runs in his 4-over spell and took 5 wickets. Varun Chakravarthy took wickets of big batsmen like Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. This is also the first 5 wicket haul of his career. With this, he also became the third Indian spinner to take 5 or more wickets in a T20I match. Earlier, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have done this feat. At the same time, he became the third Indian bowler to take a 5 wicket haul against South Africa.
Strong comeback in international cricket:
Varun Chakravarthy made his T20 International debut on the Sri Lanka tour in the year 2021. He played a total of 6 matches that year, but he was able to take only 2 wickets.
