New Delhi: Former Indian team head coach Rahul Dravid was spotted in deep discussion with Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The discussions took place ahead of India's first match of the three-match Test series against New Zealand scheduled on October 16 in Bengaluru. Dravid, who led India to victory in the T20 World Cup by defeating South Africa in June this year, is known for his strategic coaching approach and is expected to bring valuable insights to the team.

After the World Cup title win, Dravid’s tenure ended and former batsman Gautam Gambhir was made the new head coach of Team India. Dravid suddenly arrived at the Indian team’s practice session and laughed and joked with the players and spent some good moments. A video of this is going viral on social media in which Dravid is seen talking to Rohit, Kohli and Pant.

India performed brilliantly in the recently concluded T20 and Test series against Bangladesh and was successful in clean-sweeping both series. India will now be looking to repeat the same performance against New Zealand. The conversation with Dravid would have further boosted the morale of the Indian team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the Indian team for the series against New Zealand.

Dravid’s career as coach:

Dravid was appointed the head coach of the Indian team in November 2021. Dravid replaced Ravi Shastri as the coach of Team India. Under Dravid’s leadership, the team made it to the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup where it lost to Australia. However, a few months later, the team won the T20 World Cup. Before the ODI World Cup, India also won the Asia Cup title by defeating Sri Lanka.

Dravid became the coach of Rajasthan Royals:

After being relieved of the responsibility of the national team, Dravid returned to IPL and was made the head coach of Rajasthan Royals. Dravid has played for this team before and has also been the mentor of Rajasthan. Apart from this, he was also the cricket director of the team in 2015 and 2016.
