New Delhi: Tempers flared as Rishabh Pant engaged in a heated argument with Liton Das, the wicketkeeper-batsman from Bangladesh. The confrontation occurred on the third delivery of the 15th over, following a shot by Yashasvi Jaiswal off Taskin Ahmed's delivery, when the players attempted a quick single.
The two players decided not to run, but Das threw the ball anyway, and it hit Pant’s pads. This allowed the Indian pair to complete the single run. Das was clearly frustrated because runs are usually not taken after a deflection.

The tension rose when Pant fired back, saying, “Usko feko na bhai, mujhe kyu mar rhe ho,” which means, “Throw it to him, why are you hitting me?” This exchange, caught on camera, quickly went viral, showcasing the intense emotions on the field.
It was earlier in the day that Bangladesh skipper Najmul Shanto won the toss to bowl first. Early breakthroughs came for the Bangladeshi bowlers, picking out Rohit Sharma on 6 runs, and two overs later, Virat Kohli on 6 runs.
However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant steadied the innings for India. The duo put together an unbeaten stand of 54 runs, which helped in reviving India’s innings. At the end of the first session, India had scored 88 runs at a run rate of four, hence keeping the session in balance. Bangladesh will look to make early breakthroughs again after lunch.
