2024 Ballon d'Or Nominees: Latest List of Players Nominated for World's Best Soccer Player Award by France Football

Rodri, the talented midfielder from Manchester City and Spain, is considered one of the top contenders for the title, along with the Real Madrid duo of Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham.

Lionel Messi saw off the challenge of Rodri's club teammate Erling Haaland last year to win the prize for a record-extending eighth time.

It feels likely that 2023 will represent the end of the astonishing Messi-Ronaldo era, with a new winner ready to be crowned.

The nominees for the Ballon d'Or 2024 will be announced on a L'Equipe live stream at 18:20 CET (12:20 ET/17:20 BST) on Wednesday, September 4.

Nominees for the Ballon d'Or Feminin will be revealed on the same live stream. Barcelona and Spain sensation Anita Bonmati scooped the prize last time around.

The Kopa Trophy, which recognises the best young players in the world, the Yashin Trophy for the word's best goalkeeper and the Men's and Women's Club of the Year shortlists will also be disclosed, along with coaching prizes.

The 2024 Ballon d'Or gala is due to be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. local time (2 p.m. ET).
