Southampton FC teams up with BBFS to enhance grassroots football coaching in India

The announcement event was attended by Bhaichung Bhutia, Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier, Director of Southampton Football Academy Andy Martino, Football Development Manager Programs of Southampton FC Tom Grevatt, and Co-Founder & CEO of Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools Kishore Taid.

“Nobody develops footballing talent better than the Saints. I have been there all my life and I can tell you that they have the most committed academy coaches and support staff, which have produced some of the best players in England. Southampton Academy kids are made not only for football but to face any life challenges. Grassroots tournaments like the Southampton Cup will also be a life-changing experience for the kids here,” Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier said during the event.

“At BBFS, we have always targeted the grassroots and have been quite successful in doing so and this partnership will help us keep up with that target. Southampton is a football club which has all the key ingredients- history, tradition, passion, pride, fighting spirit, style of play, rivalry and success,” Bhaichung Bhutia said during the event.

At the event, Le Tissier also added that they will work closely to improve the football culture in the nation. According to Le Tissier in the coming years, the programme could help Indian football stars to grow and potentially play in the Premier League in the future.
